A better windshield for you!

A better windshield for you!
“See Clearly, Drive Safer”…

Halifax & Bridgewater Nova Scotia- February 8, 2010
“Using technology innovated for the aviation industry, Aquapel Glass Treatment forms a chemical bond with the glass which increases water repellency, causing water to bead and easily shed off the glass. These fluorinated compounds apply in just minutes to a clean, dry windshield or any exterior glass surface, and lasts up to 6 times longer than silicone-based products.” - www.aquapel.com (02/17/2010)

Ever avoid driving at night? Do you like intermittent wipers because of the constant wiper chatter distraction while driving? Would you rather not scrape your windshield in the morning? And does your windshield not seem to be as clear as it used to be?

Technology advancement of glass has come along way from fire and sand. Some of the top projects today are the development of glass that reduces fuel consumption and increasing the non-reflective efficiency of solar cells. A PPG sales representative some years ago came to me with a new product call Aquapel. What is it you ask? Basically he told me that it is a revolutionary glass treatment developed for the aerospace industry that repels rain, dirt, and grime. It even reduces the blinding glare of oncoming lights so you can see clearly at night. The salesman also said that Aquapel is designed to form a chemical bond with glass that creates a water resistant barrier and that can last up to 6 months.

So, rain beads on the windshield and rolls off to maintain better visibility and safer driving conditions, we all can use that. The difference was and still is amazing! According to the Aquapel website it also makes it easier to clear ice, snow, and dirt from the windshield because the glass is completely sealed. This is a good thing this time of year in Lunenburg County Nova Scotia as well as any place.

Where can you get some? Most car dealers and glass companies (such as Scotia Auto Glass) offer the service which retails for about $29.95 before you need to comeback for another treatment 6 months later. Finally, you should ask your installer to check your wiper blades as well, since some models wear out between six months and a year.

If you have to drive, you might as well get the most from your windshield.
